In today’s 3-Bet we’ll take a look at Kane Kalas crushing the Parx Big Stax, Antonio Esfandiari’s birthday party and Full Tilt’s Gold Rush.

1) Kane Kalas Knocks it Out of the Park in Parx Big Stax

Kane Kalas finally has the monkey off his back with his first big poker win.

The son of legendary Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas outlasted 276 players to win the Parx Big Stax $1,100 for $79,015.

Kalas beat experienced New York grinder Greg Himmelbrand heads-up to take down the tournament.

Heads-up took over five hours before Kalas finally closed out the tournament with A-2 over Himmelbrand’s Q-9.

Parx ambassador Matt Glantz took fourth place for $21,321. The final table also included Ronnie Bardah and Joe McKeehen.

Kalas has actually been very successful in poker with nearly $700,000 in lifetime live tournament earnings including $500k from his second-place finish at WPT Borgata.

2) Antonio Esfandiari Turns 36, Marquee Goes Wild

Considering you can pay Antonio Esfandiari to take you for a night out in Vegas you’d expect his birthday party to be pretty damn wild.

You’d be correct as Marquee threw an official party for the Magician that appeared to include a bevy of girls carrying cardboard cutouts of Esfandiari’s mug.

Jeff Gross posted this Instagram of the event a couple days ago just in case you weren’t personally invited (ouch):

Who doesn't love gooooold?

Online poker sites always crank up their promos over the holiday season but Full Tilt has an intriguing new one called Gold Rush.

Gold Rush is a modification to Rush Poker in which players are randomly whisked away to Gold Rush tables where they’ll have a shot at Ring Game Tickets, Full Tilt Point bundles and $10,000 in cash.

Players can also win tickets to $2,500 and $5,000 Gold Rush Freerolls, which are played out in Rush Poker with a Flipout tournament format.

Full Tilt players don’t have to opt into the promo and anyone who contributes to the pot in Rush Poker has a chance at qualifying for a Gold Rush table.

Full Tilt Gold Rush will run from Dec. 19, 2014 to Jan. 1, 2015. For more information about the site you can check out our Full Tilt Poker review.
