The biggest winner of the week probably should have been Viktor Blom's old nemesis SanIker.
The still unidentified German won hundreds of thousands early in the week but then proceeded to lose it all and more.
Meanwhile Hansen and Schwartz both escaped with a profit on the week.
All Aboard the Sanlker Roller Coaster
Mystery German player SanIker started the week on a massive heater. Playing 2-7 Triple Draw, SanIker managed to run up almost $1 million Nov 21-24.
Over that time span SanIker played a diverse assortment of opponents including Ivey, Cort Kibler-Melby, Julius KagomeKagome Fleischer and Trueteller.
SanIker gave so much action that the high-stakes 2-7 games ran all week. Eventually even bbvisbadforme, Gus Hansen and Luke Schwartz joined the games, too.
Hansen immediately played a couple big pots against SanIker and at the end of the day he was able to take the German for about $50k.
Hopefully this successful session gives Hansen some confidence so he can take another shot at the nosebleed games.
Famous U.K. trash-talker Luke Schwartz played both as Full_Flush1 on Full Tilt and lb6121 on PokerStars and he made a profit on both accounts.
As lb6121 he won almost $120k, which for the first time catapults him into the top five players of the week leaderboard.
SanIker, on the other hand, couldn’t secure his winnings from earlier in the week. By the end of it $400k of profits had turned into a loss of $50k.
Trueteller Pulls Away as Ivey and Kibler-Melby Flounder
Most of the money SanIker lost went into the bankroll of Russian Trueteller.
Mikhail Shalamov recently told PokerListings that very few people actually know Trueteller’s identity and just how good he really is. Trueteller went on to win $250k at 2-7 Triple Draw this week.
It looks like Trueteller’s downswing is over and he is back doing what he does best. During the summer the mysterious Russian was in the midst of a massive upswing. He temporarily took the lead on the year's biggest winners leaderboard.
Now, with $250k profit from last week, he's at last back to over $1 million of winnings for 2014.
At the bottom end of the board Ivey and Cort Kibler-Melby had very tough weeks losing $300k and $250k respectively.
Largest Pot of the Week
Patrik Antonius AKA FinddaGrind and an unidentified newcomer named Patriktortonius played the biggest hand last week.
The name sounds like a parody of Antonius and it made this duel a very volatile one.
The two players met at a mixed game table. They were playing $200/$400 and when the big hand happened the game was PLO.
The “real” Patrik Antonius raised pre-flop and then called the 3-bet of his opponent. There was almost $5k on the table before the first community cards were dealt.
