With millions of dollars on the line, thousands of poker players flocked to the tables in hopes of celebrating their own championship victory.
Most of the major tournaments including the Sunday Million, Sunday Warm-Up and iPoker $200k Guaranteed easily crushed their guarantees
Here’s a look at a few of the biggest tournaments that took place yesterday and the ultimate winners.
MatejK992SLO Dominates Sunday Million
Slovenian MatejK992SLO took the chip lead into yesterday’s PokerStars Sunday Million final table and never let up.
The Sunday Million, as usual, didn’t disappoint with 7,401 runners and a $1.4 million prize pool.
MatejK992SLO started with 20 million chips, which was more than double his closest competition.
About the only mistake he may have made at the final table was agreeing to a six-way chop. He took the largest portion but he would have won the entire $222k first place prize if he went for it.
Instead MatejK992SLO ended up beating m0rtengud heads-up to take down a total of $177k.
The Team PokerStars Pros were nearly shut out of yesterday’s Sunday Million with only Andre Akkari, Johnny Lodden and Pat Pezzin making small cashes.

MarinaBalbes Secures $97k in Sunday Warm-Up
The PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up was buzzing yesterday with 3,624 players and a $724,800 prizepool.
Among the many players to buy-in were Team PokerStars Pros Martin Hruby, Martin Staszko, Celina Lin, Fatima de Melo, George Danzer and Johnny Lodden but it was Mexican pro Angel Guillen who made the deepest run.
Guillden outlasted 3,588 players before finally busting in 36th place for $1,630.
Russian MarinaBalbes came out of the last sprint in the lead and entered the final table with the chip lead.
MarinaBalbes never let up at the final table and, although there was a three-way chop, ended up winning the tournament for $97k.

iPoker $200k Guaranteed
Meanwhile over on the iPoker network, which includes Titan Poker, William Hill Poker and Poker770, a total of 1,036 players paid the $215 buy-in to play the massive $200k guaranteed.
The players combined to create a prizepool of $207k with $35k dedicated to first place alone.
Several notables played in the tournament including established grinders Phil “bergeroo” Huxley and Matt “mjw006” Wakeman but the majority fell short of the cash.
In the end online poker player KiinKiin beat JimBeam22 heads-up to take down the $35,224 first place prize.
