You can always make suggestions for future 3-Bet pieces in the comments section below.

In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take a look at a hilarious story involving Haralabos Vulgaris, Jeffrey Pollack attempting to bring an NHL team to Las Vegas and some brand-spanking new Full Tilt advertisements.

1) Haralabob’s Best Gambling Moment Involved E-Dog

Haralabos Voulgaris remains one of poker’s most interesting personalities despite the fact he’s not really involved in the game anymore.

Voulgaris hopped on Bill Simmon’s popular podcast The BS Report this week and even had a little story about Erick Lindgren, who used to be a serious sports bettor back in the day.

You can listen to the The BS Report here. Voulgaris starts talking about the incident at 56:53. Here’s a transcript of the section:

My best gambling moment was the Golden State Warriors versus Dallas Mavericks. 11.1 to 1 was my average.

The funny thing about that is that I had a guy, a poker player, who owed me a lot of money and I was like, “Yo, buddy, you should bet on this. It’s a good bet. Put like $10,000 or $20,000 on it.”

He was a big bettor anyways but he was like, “Nah, to be honest I really like Dallas.”

[Laughs] He was going to lay like 20-1 on Dallas. If you’re out there E-dog, what’s up.

2) Could Former WSOP Commish Pollack Help Bring an NHL Team to Vegas?

Jeffrey Pollack, the former commissioner of the WSOP, hasn’t exactly been a friend to the poker world since the implosion of the Epic Poker League but he’s still wheeling and dealing in the business.

Pollack’s latest endeavour is advising billionaire William Foley, who desperately wants to bring an NHL team to Las Vegas.

According to a story with the NY Post, one scenario for Foley is to purchase the Arizona Coyotes and move them to Las Vegas.

Pollack, who lives in Las Vegas, certainly understands the market (or maybe not, considering Epic Poker’s failure) but he’s also the half-brother of NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, which has to count for something.

Regardless of what happens with Pollack an NHL team in Las Vegas would provide some interesting crossover for poker, especially considering the amount of work Party Poker has done with the NJ Devils.

3) Full Tilt Poker Debuts New Ads, Not a Poker Pro in Sight

And Full Tilt Poker’s transformation from the old pro-based advertising model to a new “regular Joe” site appears to be complete.

In two new video advertisements titled “The Call” and “The Bluff” Full Tilt is focusing on average players trying to make a decision at the poker table.

The ads are actually pretty sweet but it’s a striking contrast for a site that used to entice players to “Learn, Chat and Play with the Pros.”
