Today in the 3-Bet we find go looking for Gus Hansen, Team PokerStars Online pros get grilled on Twitter and Brazilian superstars unite over the prospects of November Niner Bruno "Foster" Politano.
1) #WheresGus
Anyone know if there's a squash championship playing out somewhere in Europe right now?
The news of Gus Hansen's split with Full Tilt Poker came down unsurprisingly yesterday but the realization is starting to sink in we may have seen the last of Gus at the poker tables - either online or live - for awhile.
Already moving away from online poker due to his massive downswing, live appearances for Hansen were beginning to be few and far between even with a full time sponsor.
The Full Tilt Galway festival was the last time we remember the "full" Gus Hansen experience. The WSOP this summer was a wash as Gus stuck to the cash games. EPT events in nearby Barcelona and London failed to bring him out as well.
Gus's lone live tournament cash in 2014? A 71st place for €12,600 at EPT Vienna back in March.
We're pretty sure we haven't seen "the end" of Gus Hansen, but it does very much feel like the end of the "Gus Hansen Era," which is a shame if true as the Gus Hansen era was awesome.
We're keeping an eye on his Twitter account obv., and multiple requests have been made for more from Full Tilt. If you hear of him, let us know.
2) #AskMickey (Or Isaac. Or Lex)
In case you're unaware we're currently in the middle of "Team Pro Online Week" at PokerStars with a ton of daily features and promotions involving the elite Team PokerStars Online. Among other things you can:
Win a $15,000 PCA package Play in a $25k freeroll Face-off against the Team Online Pros in a 10x-profit Zoom Challenge and If you're a Supernova or Supernova Elite VIP, ACTUALLY GET A CHANCE TO BECOME a member of Team PokerStars Online
Which is pretty absurdly awesome.
As a way to get to know the Team Online pros a bit better a few of them are also taking over the @PokerStars Twitter account at various times to answer your questions.
Unfortunately you've already missed the Mickey "mement_mori" Petersen takeover today but his answers are still up on the @PokerStars timeline. Tomorrow's guest pro is Isaac Haxton and Friday's is Lex Veldhuis.
Get your questions lined up and ready to go at 12 ET because the best one of the day gets a ticket to The Big $11 on PokerStars. More info here.
3) Everybody in Brazil Rooting for Bruno Politano
Remember when Brazilian November Niner Bruno Politano (aka Bruno Foster) told us when somebody from Brazil wins something, everyone from Brazil wins?
He wasn't joking - Brazilians support Brazilians wherever and whenever they have a chance to win, as exuberant poker rails have told us for years.
Just a couple weeks from his big moment at the WSOP Main Event final table some Bruno supporters at PokerDoc.com.br put together this video with pledges of support and encouragement for Bruno from superstars including football heros Neymar and Xuxa.
Check the clip below and follow #VamoFostera on Twitter for more. Probably helps if you speak Portugese, but still. You get the gist.
As the short stack going in Politano will need all the encouragment he can get, but a crazy rail is just the kind of thing that can make a comeback happen. Tune in to PokerListings on Nov. 10/11 for coverage right from the floor of the Penn and Teller Theater.
