Starting the day with just eight players, short stacks Bob Carbone and Eli Berg were the favorites to bust coming in but both managed to stave off elimination to make the final table.
Season VI WPT Player of the Year Little was the unfortunate first to go today, with things turning sour almost off the bat when his kings lost to Berg’s AJ in the first dozen hands to double Berg up.
The end came shortly after when, down to 169k in chips, he shoved 9♥ 5♥ from the button. Steven Brackesy looked him up from the big blind with A♠ 5♣ and the ace-high held.
Little earned $54,060 for his eighth-place finish.
Klodnicki also seemed likely to make the final six but was the unfortunate final-table bubble boy.
Starting the day with 534,000 in chips, Klodnicki looked good to hold on or move up but after shrinking down to about 370k he got it in with top pair and a gutshot versus a Brackesy combo straight/flush draw.
The flush came through on the turn and Klodnicki hit the rail with $68,465 for his seventh-place finish.
Buoyed by the two big eliminations, Brackesy is now the chip leader heading into the televised final table tomorrow with 1.8 million in chips.
Christian Harder, the chipleader heading into today, will have to settle for second with 1.4 million in chips, a slight dip from where he started the day.
Buoyed by a double-up apiece, Carbone and Berg also moved out of the short-stack spots and sit fourth and fifth in chips respectively heading into the final.
Daniel Santoro in third and Andy Frankenberger, who lead for much of the tournament but now finds himself the short stack, round out the final six.
