Olivier Busquet certainly did at the EPT €50k Super High Roller final table.

Busquet survived a scary A-2 vs. K-K moment against German Sven Reichardt and then went on a tear that concluded heads-up against One Drop winner and protégé Dan Colman after the pair agreed to a chop.

It was a dynamic, if relaxed heads-up match between two of the best heads-up players in the world. Busquet mentored Colman and helped him rise through the online ranks.

This time around it was Busquet who finished on top thanks in large part to a massive river bluff with five-high where he got Colman to lay down a pair of jacks.

It was also a soomewhat politically-charged heads-up match with Busquet and Colman sporting controversial “Save Gaza” and “Free Palestine” t-shirts respectively.

The EPT €50k Super High Roller final table had a compelling lineup of combatants with Dan Shak, Morten Klein, Sven Reichardt, Sam Trickett, Scott Seiver and Vladimir Troyanovskiy filling up the other slots.

Busquet was a wrecking ball at the final table and busted both Shak and Klein with pocket aces both times.

Seiver, hot off his sixth-place finish at the 2014 $1m Big One for One Drop added another €364,200 for his fourth-place finish in the tournament.

Relatively unknown Russian Troyanovskiy raised a few eyebrows with his deep run at the final table but couldn’t win an all-important flip with A-8 against Busquet’s 5-5.

He ended up on the rail in third place for €473,200.

Colman Hits Nearly $20m in Earnings This Year

Good friends Busquet and Colman immediately agreed to a chop that saw each player earn €843k+ with about €30,000 left to play for.

While Colman had to settle for second place he did add €843,066 to his already incredible results this year.

He’s up to $19,611,443 in earnings this year thanks in large part to his $15m score in the Big One, but he also won the EPT Grand Final Super High Roller for $2 million.

Colman also become somewhat of an online celebrity with his non-reaction to winning the Big One and his controversial decision to skip doing any interviews.

Meanwhile Busquet finally got his first major tournament win, which is incredible considering he already had over $5m in lifetime tournament earnings.
