In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take a look at poker legend Doyle Brunson turning 81, Ryan Riess balling with celebrities and a behind-the-scenes tour of PokerStars HQ.
The Texas Dolly Turns 81
Doyle Brunson remains one of the last visages of a different era of poker but the Texas Dolly shows no signs of going away anytime soon.
Brunson turned 81 yesterday and celebrated with a serious-looking cake courtesy of children Pamela and Todd Brunson.
To put things in perspective, Doyle was born six years before World War II began.
While Doyle opted to skip the WSOP this year thanks to the long hours required to play tournaments, he’s still an active participant in some of the biggest cash games in the world.
We really hope Doyle’s not completely done with the WSOP and comes out for at least one even next year but we’ll have to wait and see.
Doyle remains tied for the second most bracelets at 10 with both Johnny Chan and newcomer Phil Ivey. Phil Hellmuth is tops with 13.

While Ryan Riess’ reign as poker world champion will be over in a few months he definitely still has some celebrity status.
The Michigan native took part in Hunger Games actor Josh Hutcherson’s celebrity basketball tournament over the weekend.
Riess was on a team with Hutcherson, Terrell Owens, Christopher “McLovin” Mintz-Plasse and Jarod Einsohn among others. The squad won 77-55 and there’s a good chance Riess’ large frame was instrumental in the victory.

Ever wondered what the PokerStars headquarters in the Isle of Man looks like?
Well now you know thanks to a new five-minute video by PokerStars.
It’s unclear as to whether the video has something to do with the Amaya takeover but it provides a behind the scenes look at what it takes to run the biggest poker site in the world. That server farm alone looks like something out of a Sci Fi movie.
Online poker has certainly come a long way since playing over IRC back in the day.
