With most of the poker world still in WSOP hangover mode there were at least three significant tournaments that took place over the last week.

Here's our weekly recap of the most notable poker tournaments around the globe below (prepared by PokerZeit's Dirk Oetzmann):

1) Fabian Ortiz Takes Down 2nd LAPT Title in Panama

Remember last year’s WSOP Main Event when Argentinian businessman Fabian Ortiz made a really deep run and finally finished in 17th place?

The man from Saenz Penz Chaco took home more than $357,000 which was the biggest score of his poker career.

Yesterday Ortiz showed that run was much more than a fluke when he prevailed at the main event of LAPT Panama.

Ortiz began the final table with the most chips and held on to outlast the whole field of 549 entrants.

Before heads-up play started Ortiz and Mexican player Guillermo Olvera made a deal after which Ortiz took home the title.

Remarkably enough it wasn’t the first LAPT title for Ortiz. In January 2009 he won LAPT2 Vina del Mar after he had just one ante left at the final table.

Final results of LAPT7 Panama (*after a 2-way deal):

1. Fabian Ortiz - $143,930* 2. Guillermo Olvera - $114,115* 3. Alexander Haber - $71,280 4. Nick Russo - $55,560 5. Hugo Suarez - $43,580 6. Javier Rios - $34,240

2) Frenchman Mohamed El Bakkouri Wins WPT National Brussels

Belgium was host of the latest WPT National stop last week. A total of 319 players made their way to the Belgian capital, paid the buy-in of €675+75 and generated a prize pool of €208,865.

The most notable player was Friend of PokerStars Pierre Neuville and in the end he was not only the most famous Belgian player in the field but the most successful as well.
