The relatively unknown Tim Stansifer actually managed to sneak into the chip lead with 481,500 in the last 30 minutes of play but Jacobson dominated much of the day and ended with 342k.

The day began with 505 players returning to the Amazon Room from Day 1a and 1,428 from Day 1b to play in Pavilion and Brasilia.

The players never mixed and it counted as a separate Day 2 for each, despite the fact it was all under the roof of the Rio.

Igor Kurganov, Naoya Kihara, Cary Katz, Matt Affleck, Liv Boeree and Xuan Liu were among the roughly 1200 players to bust on Day 2a/b.

Anette Obrestad was eliminated by Jay Farber in particularly brutal fashion when she got all-in with a flopped straight against Farber’s overpair only to have Farber river a full house.

Meanwhile Abe Mosseri, Antonio Esfandiari, Ole Schemion, Manig Loeser, Faraz Jaka, Mukul Pahuja and Kevin MacPhee built top 50 chip stacks among the surviving 700 players.

PokerListings will be on hand tomorrow to cover Day 2c, which will feature Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu, with our innovative “On Demand” live coverage where readers can make suggestions via the comments on this page or via Twitter, or Facebook.

Check back tomorrow at 12 p.m. local time.
