Joe Fox is a real estate agent from Phoenix, Arizona. Married with three kids, Joe has dreamed of playing in the WSOP but since the market went south he hasn't had the poker bankroll to make that dream a reality.
PokerListings met him on the rail at the $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop at the 2014 WSOP. He was there with his wife Stephanie watching their favorite poker pros including Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu.
He had no idea that the next day he'd be sitting down to take his very own shot at a WSOP bracelet.
Fox has been playing poker for almost a decade and hosts a monthly home-game with his wife at their home, which they call “The Fox Den Casino” when it's time to play poker.
To get him ready for his WSOP debut, Joe sat down with veteran poker pro Maria Ho for a one-on-one poker strategy session.
Every Buy-In Changed One Life Forever
Joe Fox had a chance to live his WSOP dream but his buy-in also did something amazing for one other person in the world.
Joe played the WSOP Little One for One Drop, a special poker tournament in which $111 from every buy-in went to the One Drop organization to help people gain access to clean water.
One Drop Communications Director Pien Koopman told PokerListings that all it takes for One Drop to change one person's life forever is $100.
That means that every buy-in to the Little One for One Drop this year- 4,496 in total - changed a life for the better.
