Ruthenberg, who plays online as Taktloss47, victimized Swedish pro Mikael Thuritz and Chinese VIP Chu Lei Zhou on his way to $436k in profit (according to highstakesDB).
No Poker Life for Taktloss47
Between 2007 and 2010 Sebastian Ruthenberg was a fixture of the well-known Villa Luckbox in Las Vegas where numerous tournaments players went to party and talk about poker.
But the man whose nickname used to be “Luckbox” is no longer hunting bracelets, and he’s retired from partying, too.
Which means he has a lot more time to play online poker now. After a long break, where he went to get training as a gastronomy manager, he came back to play, and his choice was 2-7 Triple Draw.
For the last couple of months, he’s been dominating. Ruthenberg has targeted Viktor Blom, Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey, and KagomeKagome over that time span.
Last week, all he needed was six hours of play over two days to bank a $436k profit, more than any other player on the net.
In second position last week: mystery man Trueteller, who is said to be German Johannes Strassmann.
He won the larger part of his $246k profit on 2-7 Triple Draw.
Swedish Pro Mikael Thuritz Burns his Recent Winnings
Twenty-nine-year-old Swede Mikael Thuritz is an online specialist. Live poker and the WSOP in particular are not his favorite places.
On the other hand, he was already a well-known guy in the poker community before he even turned 18. His favorite discipline: cash games.
Thuritz is based in Macao these days. The punting peddler on Full Tilt has amassed $1.5 million within one and a half years. On the other hand, his presumed PokerStars nickname ChaoRen has lost about the same sum.
So, the Swede is going to have to earn his living by working on the cash games. Last week, unfortunately, he added $300k at the mixed tables to his losses.
With this streak of bad luck, he’s the biggest loser of last week.
Biggest Pot of the Week
The biggest – tracked – hand of the week played out at a $300/$600 8-Game table, the game was No Limit Hold’em, and the players were some of the top mixed players of today.
Alexandre Alexonmoon Luneau, CrazyElior (SB), Phil Polarizing Ivey (BB), Gus Hansen, and Viktor Blom made for a recipe for action.
In this hand, Gus Hansen raised UTG to $2100, and Viktor Blom was the only player who made the call.
The first three cards were the
Both the players wanted to take it slow, for a change, maybe because they've struggled so much lately.
Hansen checked from first position and then check-called Blom’s $3600 bet. The turn was the
Again, Hansen checked and called. Blom bet $10k this time, and Hansen followed. On the river
however, they did push all their chips in the middle. Hansen checked again, but when Blom fired a third barrel of $45k, Hansen checkraised all-in with $71k. Insta-call.
Showdown:
Gus Hansen:
Viktor Blom:
Hansen played carefully, but when he hit top two pair on the river, he thought his hand was good. Like so many times before, he was wrong, and it was Blom who cashed in $177k.
