Blom has been winning at every game he’s played lately including PLO and 2-7 triple draw but his biggest cash cow has been high-stakes 8-game, according to highstakesdb.com.
The Swedish phenom trounced Russian Alexander “PostflopAction” Kostritsyn for over $700k in several huge matches of 8-game.
It’s a marked change for Blom who at one point was known primarily as a No-Limit Hold’em specialist.
Prior to this week Isildur1 was actually down $640k but he’s essentially righted the ship and is now sitting on a profit of $224k this year with no signs of slowing down.
Starting the year strong is nothing new to Blom. Last year he went on a scorching hot streak that saw him top out at over $5 million in profit.
Unfortunately he must have flown a bit too close to the sun because by the end of the year that profit had melted away to a modest $542k.
Blom still has a ways to go to catch rival Ben “Bttech86” Tollerene who currently stands as the early 2014 profit leader with $751k.
Meanwhile Gus Hansen once again this year’s biggest loser with $698k in damage. Hansen lost $8.5 million in 2013.
