USA, Germany, Canada Among Leading Poker Nations

From desolate Canadian fishing towns to bustling cities in Brazil there are chips being riffled and sets being flopped.

That’s why we’re taking the time to count down the 10 countries who made the most money according to Hendon Mob (thanks to Arved Klöhn of PokerOlymp for collecting the data).

To calculate the winningest countries we simply took a look at the top 5,000 players of 2013 who combined to cash for just over $685 million.

It may come as no surprise that the United States was, by far, the biggest winner in live poker with nearly 50% of the registered cashes this year. A total of 2,397 players in the top 5,000 were from the USA and they won a total of $339.1 million

Perhaps even more impressive however was the rise of Germany. German players grabbed 6.82% with only 179 players. That means each German player in the top 5,000 averaged a whopping $260,097.

Players from Canada took advantage of a strong WSOP to snag 6.53% for a total of $44.5 million.

Other countries in the top 10 included England, France, Italy and Russia. Check out the top 10 list below:
