It took awhile longer than expected but Caesars Entertainment announced that real-money games on the WSOP.com client will launch at 9:19 a.m. PT on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013.
“This is a historic moment for our company,” said Caesars Interactive Entertainment (CIE) CEO Mitch Garber.
“A state-of-the-art poker offering from one of the most established and regulated operators in the United States, is finally here.”
Despite being at the forefront of the poker boom thanks to Chris Moneymaker’s huge win in 2003, the WSOP has never offered an official real-money client until now.
Anyone in Nevada that’s over the age of 21 will be able to play. That goes for the state’s nearly 40 million visitors as well.
WSOP.com will be the exclusive site for online poker players in Nevada to satellite into the live World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
At launch WSOP.com will offer the following features:

At launch WSOP.com will still be in Field Trial stages of development, which means CIE and the Nevada regulatory authorities will closely monitor all aspects of operation.
The client will be available for both PC and Mac with an Action Club VIP program.
In addition CIE is going all out advertising the new real-money games and will pop up on shows such as Jimmy Kimmel and Breaking Bad.
The site’s first major online series will launch in October with a series of nine tournaments with $500,000 in added money.
