The former full-time online poker pro outlasted 591 entries to take down the World Series of Poker Circuit Foxwoods Main Event for $186,600.

It wasn’t exactly easy for the 28 year old as he had to beat out noted pros Bryan Leskowitz and Joseph Morneau at the final table.

"Everyone has gotten amazing in poker in the last five years." Strasser told the WSOP about the competition he faced. "They're so much better than I am at this point."

Strasser started playing poker when he was attending Duke and he went on to play professionally for two years and win over $1.3 million in the mid-2000s.

He was famously featured in a Sports Illustrated story in 2005 that showcased the rise of online poker. It was one of the biggest mainstream articles about the game.

Around 2007 he decided to leave poker and pursue a career in finance in New York City.

He has since worked for Morgan Stanley and Trafelet & Company.

Strasser hasn’t played much in the last five years but still plays the odd tournament. We certainly haven’t seen the last of Strasser as he also won entry into the 2014 WSOP National Championship.

Here are the complete final-table results for the WSOPC Foxwoods Main Event:

1st: Jason Strasser - $186,600 2nd: Wes Wyvill - $115,069 3rd: Joe Morneau - $84,414 4th: Bryan Leskowitz - $62,555 5th: Mike Guadano - $47,095 6th: James Rubin - $35,898 7th: Scott Baker - $27,545 8th: Keith Donovan - $21,770 9th: Frank Pezzullo - $17,357
