Blom will play the massive €1 million guaranteed main event beginning Wednesday, but that isn't the only poker he'll be playing in Galway.
“UKIPT Galway sounds like a party that also has a poker festival,” Blom told PokerListings.com.
“It’s sounds very cool to be a part of and I’m coming this week to play my first open-face Chinese tournament and win the main to steal glory from my UK friends.
Blom also said he's looking forward to stacking his friends in the cash-games running alongside the tournament action.
Along with Tom Dwan and Gus Hansen, Blom is sponsored by Full Tilt Poker as part of their elite pro team “The Professionals”.
But while Dwan won't be in attendance for FTP Galway, Hansen will be in Ireland to give Blom a run for his money.
Full Tilt Poker is running daily qualifiers to the main event in Galway now for as low as $109.
“With the clock ticking down to the UKIPT Galway Main Event, we’re delighted to give players even more ways to win their seat at one of the season’s most anticipated live tournaments,” said Sarne Lightman, Head of Marketing at Full Tilt Poker.
“The outright winners of the upcoming qualifiers will snag themselves an iPad Mini in addition to entry to the Main Event in Galway and the chance to win an all-access pass to the remainder of UKIPT Season 4 in our Last Longer Sponsorship contest – that’s really the icing on the cake!”
Andersen to Host BET RAISE FOLD European Premier at Galway
In addition to the tournament and cash-game poker action, players at FTP Galway can catch a special screening of the new poker documentary BET RAISE FOLD, hosted by Danielle Andersen.
Andersen is a professional poker player and one of the main characters in the documentary.
The film follows Andersen, as well as poker pros Tony “Bond18” Dunst and Martin “Alexei Martov” Bradstreet and tells the story of the online poker boom and subsequent US government actions against the three biggest online poker rooms.
Andersen will be on location to host the screening, as well as compete in the main event. Earlier this summer Andersen played the $10,000 WSOP Main Event under a sponsorship from Full Tilt Poker.
