888poker Picks Up Brazil's Bruno Kawauti and Nicolau Villa-Lobos

Kawauti recently rose to prominence as the last Brazilian player standing at the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event, ultimately busting in 15th place and earning $451,398.

Villa-Lobos has posted two big results already this year, one online and one live, with wins in the SCOOP Main Event on PokerStars for $439k and the UKIPT Edinburgh main event for $162k.

In 2012 Villa-Lobos made the top 100 in the WSOP Main Event, finishing 77th for $88,070. He's also the son of Brazilian guitar-legend Dado Villa-Lobos.

The two Brazilians join other recent Team 888poker additions Jay Farber of the 2013 November Nine and Australian Jackie Glazier who was the last woman standing at this year's WSOP Main Event.

“Can't wait to start using the patch and representing 888 and Brazil around the world," said Villa-Lobos. “It's unbelievable being part of such a great team with amazing players.”

Also on the 888poker team is legendary Aussie cricketer Shane Warne and MMA champion Georges St-Pierre.

888poker Driving Poker's Growth in Brazil

888poker is focusing on poker's exploding popularity in Brazil and will be sending the two new team members to events in their home country and around the world.

“I am happy that 888poker is taking interest in Brazil,” said Kawauti. “I look forward to playing with Team 888poker around the world and representing Brazil.”

Both players will be competing in the upcoming WSOP Europe series playing out in Paris this October.
