Wisconsin pro Jonathan Lane crushed his opposition and captured the overall chip lead with 2.8 million chips.

It was a furious day of action as only 239 players of the 666 that started the day survived.

Merson was one of the players who booked a ticket to Day 5. After outlasting all 6,598 entrants in the 2012 contest, Merson has already made it past 6,113 runners in this year’s edition. He finished with 635,000 chips.

Brunson busted a couple hours after the bubble bursting, much to the dismay of pretty much everybody in the Amazon Room.

The Texas Dolly called all-in for his last 204,000 with king-five in his final hand. Sergei Stazhkov had him dominated with pocket tens. The board bricked and the legendary poker player busted in 409th place for $28,063.

The entire poker room erupted in clapping as Brunson gave a wave and left the tournament floor. Brunson has now cashed in the Main Event in five different decades.

While heavy hitters Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey and Phil Hellmuth and now Brunson have all busted from the Main Event there are still plenty of compelling storylines.

Female pros Annette Obrestad and Jackie Glazier both finished with over one million chips and are both in the running to be the last woman standing.

Grayson Ramage, Max Steinberg, Brett Richey, David Benefield, Mark Newhouse, Yevgeniy Timoshenko and Ashton Griffin are all stacked as well.

Ronnie Bardah, Kyle Julius, Vivek Rajkumar, JC Tran, Marvin Rettenmaier and Steve Gee also made it through.

The payout booth was busy today as 427 busted in the money including Christian Harder, Joe Ebanks, Mike Watson, Humberto Brenes, Erik Seidel, Rupert Elder, Michael Mizrachi, Jake Cody, Lauren Kling, Allen Cunningham and Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier.

Day 5 begins at noon tomorrow. Be sure to check our 2013 Main Event live updates for continuing coverage of the tournament.

Here are the top 10 chip counts at the end of play:
