Just two days after PokerStars' appeal to buy the Atlantic Club was denied by a New Jersey judge the company announced a new partnership with Resorts Club today.
The deal is still contingent on approval from New Jersey gaming regulators but the two sides seem hopeful it will go through as planned:
“Resorts is a fantastic partner for us," said Mark Scheinberg, CEO of The Rational Group, PokerStars' parent company, "and we are looking forward to launch PokerStars in the U.S. in association with the other quality brands Resorts has brought to Atlantic City.
“We are very happy to invest in New Jersey and we are excited about building a successful relationship with Resorts.”
“This is another blue chip partner for Resorts to complete a wonderful series of brands - Mohegan Sun, Margaritaville and now PokerStars,” added Morris Bailey, Resorts’ Company Chairman.
All AC Casinos Plan Online Partners
Atlantic City’s 12 brick-and-mortar casinos have been very active in arranging online partners to offer poker and gaming to New Jersey residents later this year when licensed gaming becomes official.
The Trump Taj Mahal signed its own agreement with Ultimate Poker in Nevada this week. The Borgata plans to partner with bwin.party and Caesars Interactive will partner with 888 Holdings.
