Despite only one bracelet being awarded yesterday there was plenty of action with Ivey, Dario Minieri, Dan Kelly and Brian Hastings building big stacks.
Out of all the events at the WSOP, Ivey, who is a mixed-game master, made the final 14 of a $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em event.
Typically frequented by massive fields of recreational players, Ivey cut his way through over 2,000 players to make it to Day 3.
Polychronopoulos Outlasts Baker, Cada to Win $518,755
Athanasios Polychronopoulos beat a tough final table that included David “Bakes” Baker and former world champion Joe Cada to win his second WSOP bracelet last night in Event 17 $1,500 NLHE.
Polychronopoulos won another big $1,500 event in 2011 and now has over $1.2 million in earnings from eight cashes at the WSOP.
Cada has been red hot to start the WSOP and has now finished fourth in two events.

You had to wonder how long it would take for Phil Ivey to make his first final table of the summer after his astounding run last year.
There’s a chance Ivey pulls it off in Event 18 $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em as he’s in the final 14 with an average stack, although he did need to hit a big two-outer on the river to get him there.
The final 14 also features Canadian pro and former bracelet winner Daniel Idema and online pro Taylor Paur.

Davidi Kitai, Dan Kelly, Dario Minieri and John Hennigan are in the mix to walk away with a bracelet in Event 19 $5,000 Pot-Limit Hold’em.
With just 16 players left Kelly is looking to make an astounding third WSOP final table of the summer. He's up nearly $400k overall.

Event 20 Omaha Hi-Lo Split 8-or-Better drew 1,014 players making it the biggest Omaha 8 live tournament of the year.
After one day of action the original field has been cut down to 219 with Brian Hastings, James Bord, Gavin Griffin and Jon Turner in the top 50.
