Kelopuro recorded 734 hands in about two hours last night and, although the majority was in $50/$100 PLO, he won several massive pots in $50/$100 No-Limit Hold’em against SKTom84 and fellow Finn Ilari Sahamies.
No-Limit Hold’em is a rarity these days in the high stakes games on PokerStars but Kelopuro has never shied away from the game.
Despite his status as one of the elite high stakes online players in the game, Kelopuro has had some problems this year. Before last night’s session Kelopuro was down a total of $385,000.
After his big win Kelopuro has five days left to erase the $272k he’s accrued in losses in 2011 and get back in the black.
Kelopuro wasn’t the only player to win big last night as Ben “Ben86” Tollerene smashed his way to $143k.
It was yet another marathon session for Tollerene who recorded 1,595 hands of $25/$50 to $50/$100 Pot-Limit Omaha.
Tollerene feasted on Jeans89 and joiso in the 6-Max games and EireAbu in several heads-up sessions.
The American-born pro doesn’t have to worry about getting even in 2011 as he’s now up $630k as we close out the final week of the year.
TheMuppet (+$79k), LuckyGump (+$78k), smokeyumyum (+$65k) filled out the top five winners list.
Meanwhile EireAbu took the most damage last night. Thanks in large part to Tollerene, EireAbu lost a total of $159k, which was far more than anyone else. The unidentified EireAbu is now down over $200k in 2011 and looks like he will be ending the year on a down note.
Online poker player biurtyj was the second biggest loser with $81k in damage while Ilari “Ilari FIN” Sahamies took the third spot with $76k.
Sahamies still looks to have a good shot at taking biggest winner accolades on PokerStars as he’s sitting on $2.4 million this year. Rafi Amit is second with $2.1 million.
Im2tight (-$73k) and V.Wahlbeck (-56k) rounded out the top five biggest losers.
