Berlin, Madrid and Campione, Italy will all play host to €5,300 buy-in EPT events in 2012.
“We’re delighted that the EPT will be returning to two major capital cities in Europe, both of which have proved to be highly popular locations in recent years,” said EPT President Edgar Stuchly.
"We’re also very excited that the tour is for the first time heading to the highly exclusive region of Campione in Italy, further extending the reach of the EPT,” added Stuchly.
First up is Madrid and the Casino Gran Madrid Torrelodones, which was home to last season’s Grand Final. Torrelodones is located less than an hour outside of the Spanish capital. The EPT will be in Madrid March 12-17.
March 26-31 will see the EPT touch down for the first time in Campione, an Italian territory on the shores of Lake Lugano that is contained entirely within Switzerland’s borders.
Finally the EPT will return to Berlin April 16-21. The German capital has hosted some of the biggest tournaments on the tour with 945 and 773 players competing in 2009 and 2010, respectively.
These three new events bring the Season 8 total to 12, six of which have already played out.
The EPT is kicking off the new calendar year in the Bahamas with the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure January 7-13 before heading to Deauville January 31 to February 6.
