Running July 27 to August 12 the series will feature a wide range of poker variants including Irish Poker, PLO, Chinese Poker, Heads-Up, Open Faced Chinese, a high roller event and for the first time, Bridge.
The festival will culminate August 8-12 with the UKIPT Main Event which boasts a €1 million guaranteed prize pool.
Qualifiers for the Main Event are running now on Full Tilt Poker with freerolls and direct buy-in satellites from $55. Galway Expecting Economic Benefits from Full Tilt Festival
The Full Tilt Poker Galway Festival will be supported by the Irish Tourism organization Fáilte Ireland which is expecting the poker series to fit in perfectly.
“Galway is known the world over for its friendly people, charming streets, shopping and energetic nightlife, and it is now revved up for another fun-filled summer programme of festivals and cultural events," said Fáilte Ireland's Letitia Wade.
“The Full Tilt Poker Galway Festival is a very welcome new addition to the city’s unique season of summer festivals.”
Moreover, Wade expects the festival to stimulate Galway's economy.
“Spending by festival goers on hospitality, accommodation and transport provides a valuable boost to our local economy supporting employment and creating opportunities for the hospitality and cultural sectors.”
The FTP Festival will play out during the famous Galway Races, a horseracing event that's happened annually since 1869.
