Online player Vampyboy won the tournament outright for $41,400 while Maimone earned $26,100 for his runner-up finish.
The tournament drew 900 players to Full Tilt Poker, which helped create an $180,000 prizepool, which easily eclipsed the $150,000 guarantee.
The runner-up finish for Maimone is just another big score in an online career that has seen the New Yorker win over $4.1 million.
Maimone wasn’t the only notable pro at the table as Thayer “THAY3R” Rasmussen finished third for $19,350.
Jon “Pearljammed” Turner, Athanasios “Athanasios 9” Polychronopoulos and Jude “j_thaddeus” Ainsworth also made the money in Event 8.
Both FTOPS 6 $216 PLO Hi-Lo 6-Max and FTOPS 7 $322 Razz also played out yesterday but had relatively modest field sizes thanks to being lesser-known games.
