The chip leader coming into the final table, Hwang struggled in a few tough spots early on but only wavered slightly over the 124-hand final.
Losing the chip lead only around the halfway mark, Hwang held his ground and doubled up to take the lead back near hand 100 before rolling to the win from there.
Receiving $730,053 and a $25k seat in the WPT championship in May, Hwang's career earnings now sit just under $1 million.
Anderson Runner-Up, Salsberg Out First
James Anderson, a Pittsburgh-based pro originally from Ohio, finished as the runner-up to Hwang and pocketed $438,698 to push his career earnings up over $1 million as well.
The biggest name coming into the final table -- Weeds producer and WPT Paris champ Matt Salsberg -- couldn't get much going with his short stack and was the first to bust in sixth.
Salsberg still earned $147,671 for outlasting almost all of the 1,042-player field.
