Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi could give the United Nations a run for its money with the amount of ambassador titles he’s been able to secure over the last couple years.

Mizrachi’s latest deal is with popular California gaming destination Turlock Poker Room.

The Grinder will make scheduled appearances to host live tournaments and cash games as well as represent Turlock on the international poker circuit.

"We are very proud to have a player of The Grinder’s caliber represent the Turlock Poker Room as our official poker ambassador,” said Turlock Poker Room, Co-owner Philip Rheinschild.

"This partnership shows our players, the Central California poker community and the industry as a whole, how serious we are about making the Turlock Poker Room the best in the area. We couldn’t be happier.”

Mizrachi is already an ambassador for ISPT and the DeepStacks Poker Tour.

Today the Turlock Poker Room, tomorrow the world.

2) Former Poker Player Convicted of Massive $1.2 Billion Fraud

Greek businessman Achilleas Kallakis, who established some fame as “The Don” on the poker circuit, has been convicted of defrauding banks and lenders for $1.18 billion.

Kallakis, along with co-conspirator Alexander M. Williams, used the proceeds to pay for property, luxury cars, yachts, helicopters and artwork according to the U.K. Serious Fraud Office.

The two men, who pleaded not guilty, will be sentenced tomorrow.

A regular on the English poker circuit in the mid-2000s, Kallakis finished third in the 888.com Pacific Poker Open in 2005 for $100,000. Noted English pro Ian Frazer went on to win that event for $500,000.

Kallakis’ last recorded cash was sixth in a £500 buy-in event at the Sportsman Casino in London in 2009. Kallakis picked up a relatively minor £1,530 for his performance.

Kallakis was a part of one of the most famous poker hands to ever hit YouTube. During the Party Poker European Open III Kalakis was dealt pocket aces while his opponent’s had pocket kings, pocket queens, pocket sevens and pocket fives.

3) PokerStars Online Pro Takes on New $100 to $100,000 Challenge

Former Magic: The Gathering world champion and current Team PokerStars Online Pro Andre Coimbra has been known for incredible feats of online poker but his latest one may be the most impressive yet.

Very simply, Coimbra will attempt to spin $100 up to $100,000 playing only tournaments on PokerStars in 2013.

Perhaps the best part of the story is that Coimbra is going to give the proceeds from his epic grind to charity.
