At time of publishing Cody was sitting with more than average as the PCA nears the money on Day 2. And according to the Brit he had a feeling this event would go his way.

“I kind of had a dream that I'd do well in this event but I don't want to get ahead of myself too much,” Cody told PokerListings.com.

Cody, who is the youngest player to capture poker's Triple Crown (EPT, WPT and WSOP titles), said that an endorsement deal with PokerStars is a dream come true.

“PokerStars is the biggest online poker site in the world so when they approached me I basically snapped their hand off,” he said.

“It feels amazing.”

Cody Trades Up from PKR to PokerStars

Until last year Cody was sponsored by PKR but when that contract ended, many in the poker community figured it was only a matter of time until someone else made him an offer.

According to Cody he was surprised that it was PokerStars.

“Being a member of Team Pro is something I've always wanted but honestly I didn't expect it to happen,” he said.

“There are so many great UK poker players so I feel like it's a big accomplishment to make it onto the team.”

Cody has over $3.1 million in live tournament earnings but has recently been playing less live poker than he's used to, something he says is going to change in a big way in the new year.

“Over the last six to eight months I've mostly been at home but with this will definitely get me out to more live events this year,” said Cody.

Cody said that after the PCA he'll be playing UKIPT Edinburgh before heading to EPT Deauville where he won his first major title in 2010.
