After five levels of play Selbst has built herself a stack of around 165,000 chips to start Day 2 - about 10k clear of the rest of the field.
Following closely on her heels though are an elite top 20 that includes Allen Kessler (108,475), who held the chip lead for the first-time ever in a WPT event earlier in the day, Jack Schanbacher (108,100), Chris Klodnicki (106,750), Will Failla (101,325), Alec Torelli (100,500) and Antonio Esfandiari (97,350).
A field of 365 entrants paid the $10k to play today but with registration open until the end of Level 8 tomorrow the numbers could move well up past 400.
About 300 are left from today’s starting field and, as expected, it’s a who’s who of the poker world. More than 20 of them are also past WPT champions.

Last year’s winner of the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic was Antonio Esfandiari, who knocked off a tough final table that included Andrew Robl, Vanessa Rousso, John Racener, Kirk Morrison and Ted Lawson.
Esfandiari took home $870,124 for the win. Robl collected $549,003 for second.
