From the first ever $1 million buy-in event to Phil Hellmuth's historic WSOP Europe win, we were there every step of the way.

The World's First $1 Million Buy-In Tournament

The Big One for One Drop set many records, and gave us plenty of opportunity to snap pictures of the best players in the world.

Brainchild of Billionaire Cirque de Soleil founder Guy Laliberte, the Big One raised millions for charity and generated an astounding $18 million first-place prize won by Antonio Esfandiari.

The 2012 WSOP Main Event

Greg Merson pulled off the impossible when he won his first WSOP bracelet early in the 2012 WSOP, and then went on to win the Main Event.

But Merson wasn't the only story from this year's World Championship.

We also watched as two female European players busted 11th and 10th, just short of the final table.

Hellmuth Wins WSOPE Main Event, 13th Bracelet

Phil Hellmuth managed what many consider to be the greatest achievement in the history of poker when he became the first player to win both WSOP Main Events.

The fact that Hellmuth had already won a record 12th bracelet earlier in the year only adds to the feat.

Ivey's Triumphant Return

Phil Ivey took the entire 2011 WSOP off but returned to live tournament poker in a big way in 2012.

Ivey finished 12th in the main event before entering the $250k Super High Roller and winning it. He then went on to make five final tables at the WSOP.

It's easy to see why he's smiling in so many of the pictures we've taken of him.
