Phil Ivey Returns to Full Tilt Poker with New Screen name

You had to think the biggest all-time winner on Full Tilt Poker wouldn’t be able to stay away for long.

Phil Ivey has allegedly returned to Full Tilt Poker and according to an email from the site that was leaked he’s now playing under the name “Polarizing.”

It’s unclear if Ivey requested the name change or if Full Tilt Poker decided to change his name since he’s no longer a sponsored pro with the site.

It’s also not exactly clear what Ivey’s alias refers to but he certainly has been a polarizing figure in the poker community since Black Friday hit in 2011.

The account has only been active for a few days now but it’s already up over $100,000 over 1,895 hands.

Prior to Black Friday, Phil Ivey had over $19 million in winnings on Full Tilt Poker.

PokerStars to Launch Zoom Poker Tournaments

Apparently PokerStars is finally adding tournament functionality to its popular rapid-fire Zoom Poker variant.

According to a post by PokerStars’ Lee Jones on TwoPlusTwo poker forum, Zoom tournaments will be in the next software update so it’s just a matter of putting the final polish on the feature.

Jones admitted that updates sometime slip and PokerStars' number one priority is making sure it works correctly but he expects Zoom tournaments to go live in the next week.

A long-time feature on former rival Full Tilt Poker, players have been clamoring for fast-fold based tournaments since Zoom Poker launched on PokerStars.

On Full Tilt Poker Rush tournaments go down to short-handed in the later stages of the tournament and the final table is non-Rush.

Michael Jordan = Poker Degen

Retired superstar basketball player Michael Jordan can add poker degenerate to his lengthy list of titles and accolades.

TWIRI Sports produced the following amazing video, which is based off an interview with Magic Johnson.

Apparently Johnson and Jordan were involved in a high-stakes poker game that lasted for days during the 1992 Olympic Games.

It’s somewhat frustrating because Johnson never reveals what game is being played or what the stakes are but it does give you the idea that Jordan could degen with the best of them.

Come to think of it, Air Jordan is a pretty sick poker nickname too.
