Beskrovnyy, a Russian with a limited amount of live tourney experience, carried over his chip lead from Day 1a to bag up 625,500 to end the night again in first place.
He’s followed by German Martin Hanowski (484,000), Sergio Aida Espina (416,400), Cesar Garcia Dominguez (410,900) and Robert Kokoska (403,400) to round out the top five.
They'll all have to stay at the top of their game to keep pace, however, as two big-time challengers are right at their heels.
Soulier, Brammer Move Up; ElkY, Lodden Tread Water
Just outside that top 5 lurks some serious threats to Beskrovnyy’s lead in French pro Fabrice Soulier and British pro Chris Brammer.
Soulier, a Team Winamax pro with a litany of big wins including a $10k HORSE bracelet from the WSOP, sits in sixth overall after a huge 200k+ pot late in the day moved him up to 396,200.
Brammer, meanwhile, who poker fans might know better under his PokerStars handle NigDawG, took the more direct route and simply bossed his table around all day en route to a stack of 389,900.
Other notables to move up the ranks on Day 2 included Todd Terry (392,300), Ramzi Jelassi (306,600), Oleksii Kovalchuk (251,900) and Shannon Shorr (162,500).
Not quite as productive but still returning for Day 3 with a good shot at cashing are PokerStars pros Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier (72,700) and Johnny Lodden (67,500).
Hitting the rail for keeps on Day 2 were notables Keven Stammen, Ville Wahlbeck, reigning champ Martin Finger, Eugene Katchalov and Jason Mercier.
Action picks up from Prague for Day 3 tomorrow at noon local time and will play down to the money at 120 players and beyond; follow the action live on the PokerStars blog.
