And although Vadim Belov stacked the most chips on Day 1b, it will be Day 1a chip leader Iosif Beskrovnyy entering Day 2 as chip leader.
This year's field beat out 2011's numbers by 142 players, generating a first-place prize of €835,000 compared to the €720k Martin Finger won in this tournament one year ago.
The money will be distributed along a very flat payout structure with 128 places in total getting paid. Prizes start at €8,000.
Headlining the top 10 as the most recognizable name is American pro Todd Terry. With over $2 million in live tournament earnings Terry has had a few close calls at the WSOP and WPT but has yet to close out a major title.
Also still in it with a chance at that money are Ari Engel (103,100), Eoghan O'Dea (102,400), Chris Brammer (96,400), Johnny Lodden (94,500), John Eames (85,100), Fabrice Soulier (74,000) and Roberto Romanello (52,100).

Just 318 of the 864-player field survived to Day 2 and, sadly, Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree was not among them.
If her Twitter account is honest she lost her stack in three key spots, all of which were extremely unlucky.
First she ran the nut flush into a full house, and then lost with A-Q vs. J-J on a queen-high flop. Finally she was sent packing in a preflop all-in with pocket kings failing to hold up against pocket jacks.
Arnaud Mattern, who won this event in 2007, lasted until the very last hand on Day 1a, before joining countryman Guillaume Darcourt on the rail.
Also going broke short of Day 2 were Jon Duhamel, Dario Minieri, Luca Pagano, Jude Ainsworth, Steve O'Dwyer, Stephen Chidwick and John O'Shea, to name a few.
