Today in the 3-Bet we find Ilari Sahamies rampaging through the high-stakes games again, Phil Galfond proving it’s never good to Tweet when you’re running good and Phil Ivey launching a new website with Patrik Antonius and Greg Merson along for the ride.
1) Sahamies Wrecks Galfond, Sulsky Weekends

When things go bad for Finnish high-stakes loose cannon Ilari Sahamies at the tables, things go really, really bad.
Like xenophobic, expletive-riddled, chat explosion bad.
When things go well for him and his hyper-aggressive style of play, though, they can go really, really well.
Following up a three-day run early last week where he pocketed over $1 million, Sahamies went on a blazing weekend heater that didn’t stop until he was an incredible $2.2 million in the black.
Taking the brunt of Ilari’s staggering run were Phil “mrsweets28” Galfond, who dropped about $600k, and Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky, who sat down fresh from his quarterfinal win in the $100k All Star Showdown only to promptly get thrashed for roughly $440k.
All told, after being down $1.4 million for the year at one point, Sahamies' week-long surge has pushed him to almost $900k in profit for the year.

2) Galfond Down Nearly $1 Million Since Run-Good Tweet
As with every feel-good online poker heater (see above), there’s almost always an equal downswing for someone else.
On October 12, Phil Galfond sent this tweet out to his 43,000+ followers:

Since that day, though, it’s been nothing but bad fortune for Galfond.
Running well below his expected all-in EV, Galfond is down $915,028.60 – $700,000 of that in just his last few hundred hands alone. Hence Ilari Sahamies' salacious weekend.

Meanwhile, while massive pots change hand online and the final nine at the WSOP Main Event prepare for their day of reckoning, a guy with plenty of experience in both was busy doing his own thing.
Widely considered the greatest player in poker, speculation has abounded as to where Phil Ivey would land his next sponsorship.
The answer? IveyPoker.com, his own free, branded website.
Just launched, IveyPoker will be a social/training site where Ivey and a select team members will interact and offer strategy videos.
Included in the first wave of rigorously curated team pros, Ivey said in an interview with ESPN, will be Patrik Antonius, Jennifer Harman and Octo-Niner Greg Merson.
“I want to teach the world how to play better poker,” Ivey said. “I feel like there’s a big hole in the poker community.”
Among the other things Ivey gets into are his pick for the main event (Merson), his time at the ME final, his quest for WSOP bracelets and when we can expect his thoughts on the Full Tilt situation (soon).
