Over the last two days a total of 169 players bought into WPT Malta to create a prize pool of over $500k and $182k for first place.
Among the many players to buy into the contest were world-class pros Mercier, Hellmuth, Vanessa Selbst, Kara Scott, Tony G, Marvin Rettenmaier, Erik Cajelais and Dan O’Brien.
A total of 104 players survived Days 1a and 1b with Jackson Genovesi the overall chip leader with 147,500 chips.

It was clear how a big a deal the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker was to many of the players at WPT Malta today as Mercier, Selbst and Anton Wigg all had laptops at the tables so they could multi-table between live and online tournaments.
